Welcome to the
Pub, B&B, Bunkhouse and Campsite
Owners Julie, Ray and Jeffers and Manager Poppy, welcome you to Dinas Castle Inn; the highest pub in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Formerly known as The Dragons Back, we are a country pub with a great food cooked to order and various types of wonderful, spacious and affordable accommodation. We are a pet friendly establishment and look forward to welcoming both you and your four-legged friends.
You can find us situated in a glorious valley that is over 1000ft above sea level right in the rural heart of the Black Mountains, which make up the Eastern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. There are spectacular views of the surrounding hills that can be seen from almost every window or better still sit in our spacious beer garden enjoying a cold one after a busy day. Being situated in a dark skies area, we are ideal for those star gazers. We are located below the ruins of Castell Dinas, the highest castle ruins in England and Wales, which can be visited on a challenging walk right from our car park.
Enjoy a local real ale and relax by the log fire. Alternatively have a game of pool or play a game from a selection of our board games.
Wholesome and tasty home-cooked food in generous sized portions, including our speciality of steaks, served on a hot rock. Food orders are taken from 11am until 9pm, with breakfast served by pre-arrangement.
We welcome many types of customers, including large groups such as stag & hen do’s, bikers, corporate ventures, military team building and Duke of Edinburgh. Our spacious accommodation options include the Bunkhouse which sleeps up to 22 people and our B&B houses up to 10 people, plus well behaved pets.
